The term symbiosis means living together and symbiotic mode of nutrition includes mutualism in which both partners are benefitted and the other harmed. Mycorrhizal association is a mutualistic relationship where the fungus receives organic nutrient from the plant and the plant roots obtain some minerals absorbed by the fungus. Lichen also shows symbiosis (mutualism).
